Blum: a minimum of two hinges, more depending on door weight and height, with the spacing between hinges maximized; its chart plots door weight from 4 to 22 kg against 2 to 5 hinges. Salice: the distance between the top and bottom hinges must be greater than the door width, and add hinges if you are near the chart's border line. Blum hinges are designed for doors up to 600 mm (about 23-5/8 in) wide; wider doors sag more, fail early and void the warranty.
A soft-close door that sticks and only shuts with a final push: Blum's CLIP top BLUMOTION FAQ gives three causes. (1) Hinges or door misaligned. (2) Too little gap between door and carcass, so check and increase it. (3) Door too small or light for the damper, so BLUMOTION can be deactivated on the hinge with its switch; the door must be closed once to complete it. Soft-close engages at about 16 degrees from closed, and its strength is not adjustable.
