No permit, and that is a real answer here rather than a shrug: cabinets are named explicitly in Orange County's exempt list and in FBC 105.2 as finish work, exempt regardless of cost — as long as you are not moving plumbing or electrical. Exempt still means code-compliant, it just means nobody inspects it.

Three screws, three axes — and on a Blum CLIP top only two of them are on the hinge. FRONT screw = side/overlay (±2 mm); REAR spiral-cam = depth, the gap behind the door (+3 / −2 mm off a 1.5 mm factory setting); HEIGHT lives on the MOUNTING PLATE, via its cam screw (±2 mm) or by loosening a non-cam wing plate, sliding, and retightening (±3 mm). Hettich Sensys is numerically identical and publishes the direction: clockwise on the overlay screw REDUCES overlay.

Use a Phillips screwdriver, not a power drill — Blum says a driver prevents damage to the adjustment screw. And do not reach for the WD-40: Blum names it specifically, saying abrasive chemicals "will cause damage to the product."
A door that still droops after the height cam hits its stop is UNDER-HINGED, not misadjusted. Blum's chart goes by door weight: under 15 lb = 2 hinges, 15-30 lb = 3, 30-45 lb = 4, 45-60 lb = 5 — with the hard rule that the distance between the top and bottom hinges must be GREATER than the width of the door (Hettich agrees: spread them as far as possible). Blum also caps CLIP top BLUMOTION 107° doors at 600 mm (23-5/8 in) wide, and says exceeding it causes premature hinge failure and voids the warranty.
Identify the cabinet, not the hinge. A solid wood frame around the door opening = FACE FRAME; bare plywood or panel edges with the door covering them = FRAMELESS (European). Hinge style is not a reliable tell — Blum sells both one-piece and two-piece hinges for both cabinet types, so counting pieces will mislead you. Buy the arm AND the mounting plate together: the arm alone does not tell you the application.
A door that catches and only shuts with a final push is usually clearance, not a dead hinge. Blum's CLIP top BLUMOTION 107° FAQ lists three unranked causes: misalignment of the door or hinges, minimal gap allowance between the door and the carcass, and obstruction — so check and increase the gap before you buy replacement hardware.
