The short version

DIYrr helps you diagnose home repairs. To do that, the repair description and photos you submit are analyzed by an AI service. We don't sell your personal data — to anyone, ever.

What we collect and why

• Repair descriptions and photos you submit. These are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate your repair plan. That provider may retain your submission briefly for abuse and safety monitoring, and does not use it to train AI models. Your repair plans and descriptions are stored in our database so the app works; photos are not retained on our servers after analysis.
• Contact details you choose to share (name, phone, email, ZIP) — only when you tap "Get a pro." They are sent to the specific local contractor shown to you, by email, so they can contact you about your repair. That is the only use of your contact details — we do not store the name, phone, or email you give a contractor on our servers. We do keep an internal record of the referral itself (which contractor, the trade, and the ZIP code) so we can confirm the handoff happened.
• An email address, if you ask us to email you your plan — and a ZIP code if you choose to type one into the optional ZIP field, which we use only to understand which areas use DIYrr. We use the address to send that plan, and we keep it with your consent choice. We only send you DIY tips or other marketing if you checked the optional box — otherwise the plan email is the only email you get. Unsubscribe or request deletion anytime at the address below.
• Feedback you volunteer (a thumbs up/down on your plan). Stored with the random device identifier — not your name or contact details — and used to improve plan quality.
• Materials pricing lookups. Item names and your ZIP code are used to fetch current retail prices from major home-improvement retailers.
• A random device identifier. Used to enforce fair daily usage limits. It is not linked to your name or contact details — with one exception: if you ask us to email you your plan, that request is stored with your email address so the daily limits work.
• Anonymous usage statistics. We collect cookieless, aggregated metrics — page views, country, device type — that cannot be tied to you personally. We use no advertising trackers of any kind.

What we don't do

• We never sell your personal data.
• We don't share your photos or repair details with insurers, data brokers, or advertisers.
• We don't require an account, and we don't collect data we don't need.

Service providers we rely on

We rely on established, reputable providers for AI analysis, secure data storage, application and web hosting, retail price data, and transactional email delivery (pro requests and, if you request one, your plan email). Each receives only what's needed for its specific function, under its own privacy and security commitments, and none may sell or use your information for advertising.

Children's privacy

DIYrr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Important reminders

DIYrr provides general informational guidance, not professional advice. AI-generated plans can be inaccurate. Always consult a licensed professional for electrical, gas, plumbing, and structural work, and confirm permit requirements with your local building department.

Your choices & deletion

To request deletion of data associated with your device or pro requests, email andrew@karhancompanies.com and we'll take care of it. You can decline AI processing at any time by simply not submitting a request.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, we'll update the date above and note it in the app.
